Well, I have been using computers now for about *counts on fingers and toes* 25 years. Firstly, I would have a notebook where if I found some information, I would write it down. As my computer got better and better, I moved onto having text files scattered around the hard drive but even though I’m late with this blogging lark, I have decided to put a blog up (this is it!) where I can put the info I have come across. After all, I have so often spent ages trying to find the solution to a problem that I’ve already sorted months ago.
Pros…
- Searchability for me – built in so it’s extremely easy to find that bit of info I need.
- It’s prettier than text files
- It might help other people with the same problems
- I write about things which will hopefully help to get it stuck further in my mind
Cons…
- Time it takes to write a more detailed post than before
- Having to spend time updating the site / software
Either way, it’s worth a try. Of course, if nothing has been written for a while it’s good – it means nothing has gone wrong! Yeah, right…
